Our homes are typically viewed as non-living objects that shield us from weather and protect us from harmful things but if you look closely, even under a microscope, our homes are living, breathing structures. They do not do well when they are left to sit with out human interaction and they certainly do not do well if you don't open windows and doors to let them ventilate.
We've become so detached from nature as we make our homes energy efficient and sealed up tight that we have forgotten the importance of fresh air. To add to the madness, many homes do not have one single live plant inside because the home owner either does not have the time to take care of plants or they don't like the work involved. But it is in our best interest to have fresh oxygen so if you are not a plant person (and I don't know why you aren't because there are many low maintenance plants out there) for the love your home open windows and/or doors to cross ventilate your home whenever the weather allows you to. That fresh oxygen will fuel your body, brain and your home will thank you for it. Now go give your home a breath of fresh air!
